Lives In a Well
 by Gina DeRosa

Once upon a time, there was a family with two children.  The oldest was a boy named Tikki Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo, and the youngest was a girl named Tina.  The two lived very happily on the beaches of Bali.  Their mother was an industrious and clever woman who built their home close to the shores of the beach.

The house is small but beautiful, and runs on its own - solar panels to power the house, and a deep well for all the fresh water they need.  The mother hunts and fishes and makes beautiful clothing for her children. Their father works far off in the city, constructing tall buildings.

The two children loved to accompany their mother to the shore, and play all day in the sands of the beach. When their mother caught a fish, the children would run to the well to fetch water to make it into soup.  Their mother always warned them, "Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo and Tina, you must be careful near the well, it is very deep.  Do not fall in."  The children were as careful as could be.  But one day, in her excitement to get fresh water, Tina slipped  and fell into the well.  "AAAAAHHHHHH!" SPLASH! Oh no!  Tina was in the well.  Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo ran to tell his mother:

"Mother, Tina has fallen into the well" he cried.  Oh No!  Go run to the city and get your father and tell him to bring the longest and tallest ladder that he has. "  So Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo did just that.  he found his fther at the top of atall building and said "Father, Tina has fallen into the well!"  We must save her.  So the father climbed down from the tall building and brought his ladder to the well where upon he climbed down and rescued Tina.

The children were very careful around he well, but many months went by and they forgot to be careful.  One day Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo in his excitment, fell into the well.  Tina ran to her mother and said "Mother, Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo fell into the well.""  But the mother who was busy cutting down trees with a chainsaw did not hear Tina.  Tina tried again to tell her mother "Mother, Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo has fell into the well!".  But the mother still did not hear.

So Tina took matters into her own hands.  She ran back to the well and yelled down into the cavernous hole.  "Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo are you ok?"  He replied, "Yes, I'm fine.  I actually like it down here.  But maybe you can send down some food."  So Tina went and fetched some noodles and tea for her brother and sent them down the well on a string.  All day she took care of her brothers needs.  He asked for some books and some toys a lantern and a few blankets.  She sent them down to him.

That evening when their mother and father came into the house they asked "Where is
Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo?"  Tina said" I tried to tell you - he fell down the well!"  "WHAT!?!" they screamed and ran out the door to the well.

They shined a flash light down the well, and they could plainly see that Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembowas quite comfortable.  He had all that needed.  The father said "Son, I will come and rescue you".   Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo said "No thank you. I'm very happy right where I am".  "Really?" asked the mother.  "Really?" asked the father?  "Really?" asked Tina.  "Really." said Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo.  And that is how the boy came to live in the well.

Once upon a time her mother got cake for Little Red Riding Hood, and on the way to a picnic she met Hansel and Gretel. Hansel and Gretel said "Our evil mother made us go out here, and we had to spend the night.  Hey look!  A Ginger Bread house!! Yummy!!"

An old woman who had an old wrinkled face like a little old plump strawberry came out, but she really was a wicked old witch.  The children didn't know that she was a wicked witch.

So Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood had sugar and cakes and cookies and all the best things you can imagine.  The old woman took them into a little room.  Hansel and Little Red Riding Hood at night time both got locked in a cage and Gretel woke up with a start!  The Wicked Witch was really wicked.  The witch said to Gretel, "Crawl into the oven and see if it is hot enough."  Gretel was smart though and said "How do I get in?"

"Silly! The oven is big enough - look I can get in myself" said the witch.  After she sort of crawled in,  Gretel gave the old woman a BIG PUSH into the oven!  She screeched!  And that was the end of that witch.

Meanwhile, there was a wolf who ate a big fat old woman for dinner.  He always comes by the gingerbread house for a treat.  So Gretel was like "Oh-Oh!"  The Wolf said " why don't you get in the oven, its like a sauna.  She said "No - why don't you go in there?  He said "Yeah!  I will good idea!"  So he went into the oven.  "Wow its hot in here.  Sheesh!" and SLAM!  She closed the oven door. That wolf wasn't very smart, huh? And that was the end of that wolf.

So Gretel unlocked Hansel and Little Red Riding Hood.
